Part of a Worldwide Spiritual Family
ISKCON Canberra is a centre of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. We serve our local community within ISKCON’s global framework of governance, standards and care, established by Śrīla Prabhupāda and guided today by the Governing Body Commission.
How ISKCON Is Organised
Śrīla Prabhupāda established the Governing Body Commission (GBC) in 1970 to oversee ISKCON worldwide. Today the GBC sets policy and appoints ministries that support every ISKCON centre, including ours.
Expert Guidance in Every Area of Temple Life
ISKCON ministries are led by ministers appointed by the GBC to become expert in their field and oversee a specific part of the mission.

- Families are welcome, and children should be supervised by their parents or carers at all times.
- ISKCON’s Child Protection Office provides policy, training and an independent process for concerns.
- Resources on recognising risks and reporting concerns are available at iskconcp.org.
Raising a Concern
If a child is in immediate danger, call 000.
You can also contact the police or ACT child protection authorities directly.
To raise a concern within ISKCON, visit the ISKCON Child Protection Office. A concern does not need to be an accusation; it is a step toward keeping every child safe.
